「９日目・１０日目」お別れ会とフリーの一日 Day 9 and 10: Farewell Party and a Free Day

 レッドウィング市でのホームステイは８月１１日（日）で終了しました。お別れ会はラペガードさんのとこで開催され、ホストファミリーが作ってくれたものは盛りだくさんで、みんなで美味しく食べました。食べ終わったら、外へ出て遊んだり、お互いに手紙を書いたり、ホストファミリーと一緒にファミリー・ピクチャーを撮ったりしてしました。
　日曜日は荷物の準備を済ますために、特に予定の入っていない日にしましたが、さすがにレッドウィングのホストファミリーはいろいろな予定を作ってくれ、楽しく過ごしました。

 The Red Wing homestay came to a close on Sunday, August 11th. The farewell party was held at the Lappegaard's and all the host families brought food to share. After the meal everyone took time to enjoy eachother's company outside, write letters to eachother, and take plenty of pictures to remember all the good times they had together.
 Sunday was a day to pack bags and rest get ready to head home but, just as one might expect from such a lively bunch, it soon was jam-packed with just a few more fun memories to take home.

マリッサとレスリー、いろいろお世話になりました。
いろいろ気が遣ってくれて、ありがとう！

食べ終わったら、外で遊びました.

レスリーのママが作ってくれたフルーツがたくさん入っているケーキです。

みんな美味しそうに食べていました。
These are the cookies that Josie and Mao and Kanoko made.
Everyone gobbled them up.

天気が良かったから、焚き火の周りにゆっくりと話ができました。
The weather was fine so people passed the time
chatting around the bonfire.

ホスト・ファミリーの皆さん、

伊方町中学派遣生は長い間大変にお世話になりました。

Thank you to all the host families for taking care

フルーツとかサラダもあって、結構ヘルシーな食べ物が盛りたくさん。
There were even fruit and salads at the party.
Plenty of healthy food options to be had.

ホストファミリーが手づくり料理をたくさん持ち寄って集まりました。
Host families all brought plenty of homemade food to the potluck.

お互いに手紙を書いたり、
手の裏にメッセージを書いたりしています。

「思い出」と「友好の心」を籠めて書いた手紙です。
Letters filled with memories and hearts of friendship.

バランスをとるゲームで、
「真央さんは一番上手だっと」ということ

引率の先生も挑戦してみました。
Even the chaperone gave it a shot.

「ツリーハウス」に遊ぶという子供の有名とは
誰にでもあるものでしょう。

バドミントンも遊びました。
They even played some badminton.

スミスファミリーと彩香と夏奈。

言葉が通じなくても、ジェスチャーを使えばなんとかなりますね。
Even if words don't get across,
we can manage to say what we need to say if we use gestures.

「いよいよお別れでみんなで写真撮影です。
名残惜しくたくさんたくさん撮りました。」と引率の先生は

みんなBFF「Best Friends Forever」を手に書きました．

夏奈は一生懸命に料理をしています。
何をつくっているでしょう。
On Sunday Kana and Ayaka worked together
to cook something up.

おにぎりも作っているみたいです。
It looks like they made some rice balls.

生地にはキャベツが入っています。
お好み焼きの生地かな。
Hmmm, cabbage in the dough?
Could it be okonomiyaki?

夏奈と彩香が作ったお好み焼き、完成！
お好み焼きのたれはありませんでしたが、
マヨネーズをいっぱいつけて食べました。
All finished and yes! They made Okonomiyaki.
There was no okonomiyaki sauce but that was ok,
"they just used mayonnaise instead" 

おにぎりの握り方を教えてくれました。
マリッサが作ったのは、ちょっとつぶしているのです。

真央と果野子も料理を作ってホストファミリーとみんなで食べました。
Mao and Kanoko made some food for their host family, too!

真央と果野子が作った料理は
手巻寿司でした。
It seems like they made some maki-zushi.

ブライアンのボートで裕司はペピン湖の近くまで行ってfishing をしました。
Hirokazu went to the lake to go fishing.

「ブライアンがバスを一匹釣りましたが、それだけでした。」と市尾先生
"Brian caught a bass but...that was it." -Ms. Ichio

フォスターは水上スキーをしました。

ニーボードも挑戦しました。「かっこいい」
Foster even tried kneeboarding.
"Cool!", said Ikata's chaperone.

「フォスターに教えてもらって、裕司も挑戦しました。
何度かトライをしましたが、難しかったようです。」
と市尾先生は言いました。
"Foster taught Hirokazu and Hirokazu tried so many times..
but it was pretty difficult."
