Day 5：劇場とスポセンと図書館 Theater, YMCA, and the Library

 今日もたくさんの写真をアップして、お送りします。シェルドン劇場やレッドウィング市立図書館など、レッドウィング人にとても愛されている場所を見学しました。写真の下に説明がありますが、不明なら連絡をお願いします。それでは、たくさんのコメントを待ってます。

まずシェルドン劇場に行きました。
そこで、舞台のカーテンや点灯の作業を体験しました。
カウンターウエイトという重しがロープに付いていて
平衡を保つので、一人でも簡単に動かせます。
First we headed to Sheldon Theater.
There,we got a chance to work the mechanisms that control the
stage curtains and lighting.
Counterweights attached to the ropes balance out the weight,
making it easy enough for one person to move on their own.

カウンターウエイトについて

みんな一回動かしてみました。
Everyone gave it a try.

点灯の色や位置を変える方法も習いました。
We also learned how to change the lights' color and position.

Day 4: ハイキングと歓迎会 Hiking and a Welcome Party

保護者の皆さん、大変お待たせしました！今日はたくさんの写真を撮って全てをアップしたかったです。ハイキングをしたり、記念植樹をしたりして、とてもたのしくて忙しい日でした。伊方派遣生はみんな元気で、笑顔でなんでも挑戦します。本当に素晴らしい派遣生です。今日は写真は５０枚以上あります。ゆっくりみてください。

昔からある今でも使っているレッドウィングディポー（駅）に
地元の芸術家の作品や工作がたくさん展示していて、
ゆっくりと観賞しました。
We checked out many different works of art by local artists on display at
Red Wing Depot (station)a station used in the past and even to this day.

写真はぼけていますが、
地元の芸術家がデザインしたジュエリーを見ていました。
The picture is a bit blurry but they were checking out some locally-designed jewelry.

ナオユキさんとタクミさんのホストマザーが案内してくれました。
Naoyuki and Takumi's host mother showed us around.

レッドウィングディポーを出て、レッドウィングシューズ本店へ向かって行くと、
レッドウィングのフラワーバスケットに水をやっていた女性に出会いました。
2日間に１回町中のフラワーバスケットに水をやらなきゃと言っていて、
１日６時間がかかると言っていました。毎年の２月ぐらいレッドウィング市のHPで
求人が広告され、たくさんの人が申請するのでなかなか就きにくい仕事だそうです。
　After leaving the Depot, we headed over to the Red Wing Shoes Store.
On the way, we ran into a girl watering the Red Wing Flower Baskets.
She told us that they water the baskets once every two days and that each time it takes
up to 6 hours to water them all. The town accept applicants for the job
beginning every February but it's not an easy job to get because so many people apply.

Day 3: レッドウィングに到着 Arriving in Red Wing

　今日は待ちに待ったレッドウィングに着いた日でした。派遣生はホストファミリ―に出会うのが心配していて、緊張していてましたが、ミネアポリス国際空港に着いて実際に会った瞬間にその気持ちが一気に無くなり、すぐとけ込めることができました。ミネアポリス空港からはみんなホストファミリーごとにレッドウィング市へ向かいましたので、写真は少ないですが、無事に着いた事を確認できました。

 シカゴ空港で航空券が発行されている間、
みんな笑顔でした。
Everyone was all smiles as they waited at Chicago O'Hare
 for for their boarding passes to be issued.

私は「疲れている顔をして」と言ったら、
なんと、ホノカさんはニコニコと笑いました。
I told everyone "Make a tired face"
and wouldn't you know it, Honoka looked up and made this big grin.

Day 2: シカゴ市内 In Chicago

今日はシカゴ市内でウィリスタワー、ネイビーピアー、シカゴ美術館、チャイナタウンなどいろいろ観光してきました。昼からは時差ぼけが強かったですが、最後までみんな元気に頑張って、笑顔で終わらせました。写真は下に掲載します。今日は６０枚以上ありますので、ゆっくりみて楽しんでください。たくさんのコメント、子供達への励ましの言葉を待っています！よろしくお願いします。

朝食はとてもアメリカンで、ベーコンにパンケーキにスクランブルエッグなど
自由にとって食べました。モモかさんは多くのアメリカ人が
好きなビスケット・アンド・グレイビーを食べてみて
「美味しい」と言っていました。ナオユキさんはベーコンのお変わりまでいっぱい食べました。
みんなよく食べて、アメリカでの一日目をとても元気で出迎えました。
Breakfast was very American with bacon and pancakes and scrambled eggs
all buffet style. Momoka tried the biscuits and gravy and said they were "pretty good!" and
Naoyuki went back for seconds of bacon. All in all the kids ate really well
and greeted their first full day in the USA full of energy.

最初に行ったのはホテルからちょっと離れているウィリスタワーでした。
タワーに入るとツアーコースの価格表というこの看板がありました。
私たちはスカイデック（展望台）コースにして、上がってみました。
The first place we stopped at was Willis Tower just a few blocks down
from our hotel. Once inside, we were met with this display with prices for many attractions.
We got tickets to the Skydeck, and headed on up.

上がる前、ウィリスタワーの歴史についての動画を見ました。
字幕なし英語で流れましたが、わかりやすい説明で派遣生は大体わかったでしょう。
Before heading up, we watched a video about the history of the tower.
There weren't any subtitles and the video was all in English,
but it was all laid out in a pretty easy to understand way so I think most of the kids
got a pretty good idea of what was being said.

Day 1: アメリカへ To the USA!

Hello from America!

　７月２５日（金）第１８回伊方中学生海外派遣団は伊方町を出発して、アメリカへ向かいました。松山空港、羽田空港、成田空港、そしていよいよシカゴオヘア空港、たくさんの空港を回って、とても忙しい一日でした。大きな問題もなく、シカゴオヘア空港での入国審査もとてもスムーズに笑顔で通れましたので、引率者として私は派遣生の前向きな姿勢と努力を素晴らしく思い、感動しました。

　写真はこの文書の下で２０枚を掲載します。同じ内容が日本語と英語で書いています。では、たくさんのコメントを楽しみに待っています。

第１８回伊方中学生海外派遣団のメンバー全員が揃っています。
たくさんの人が見送りに来てくれました。
伊方町の森口副町長と伊方町国際交流協会の廣瀬会長から
お別れの挨拶をいただいたら、早速松山空港へ向かって出発。

So many people came out to see us off.

富士山を目撃！なかなかみえない風景で派遣生がとても喜んだ。
Mount Fuji Spotted! Everyone was really happy to see such  rare sight.

羽田空港からバスに載って成田空港へ移動。
From Haneda Airport we got on a bus to Narita Airport. 

搭乗する直前、荷物を預かってもらい、バスの番号を確認。
Just before getting on the bus, we check in our baggage and
confirm the bus number with the travel agent.
